Nick Webster, owner of Millward Brothers Limited, said:
“I’m delighted that Midlands Co-operative has purchased the site. The business is a true community retailer and I’m confident that it will continue to serve the local community well and that the business will remain in safe hands.
“I would like to take the opportunity not only to thank the staff for their loyalty but to thank all the many customers who have supported the business over the years and wish Midlands Co-operative every success.”
Upon opening, the site will have been enhanced to offer customers a better product range including locally sourced products, everyday groceries, newspapers, flowers, chilled snacks and sandwiches as well as services like Paypoint and Lottery.
