Millions see snap

THE work of a Crich photographer has been seen by more than 12million people across the UK after being used by an internet search engine.

The spectacular snap, taken by Andrew Parkinson, of a bird in flight was used by Bing on its introductory search engine web page.

The picture was taken atop steep cliffs in the Shetland Islands.

Andrew, whose company Images of Wild Nature Ltd, is based in Crich, said: “The image was taken whilst I was leaning over a cliff on the most northerly of the Shetland Islands.

“I was fortunate as a 60mph westerly wind was blowing in off the north Atlantic and this enabled me to lean right out, and to give the image that ‘birds’ eye view’.

“I don’t know what would have happened if the wind had stopped, but I might have had a bit of a problem.”
