DERBY Mountain Rescue Team scoured thick woodland to rescue a man who had been missing for over 24 hours.
The man had last been seen on Monday 21 July at Millfields car park, on the southern side of Carsington Water.
When police noticed his vehicle was still there the following day, it was decided that a thorough search of the area was required.
Twenty six members of the team – accompanied by two search dogs – took part in the operation.
The man was located by the team at 5pm and was taken to hospital for a check up.
A team spokesman said: “We were very pleased to have found the gentleman alive and well in a fairly short time.”
