More help for Derbyshire carers

A new strategy to help carers has been approved by Derbyshire County Council cabinet members.

The new scheme will run until 2019 and will provide information, advice, guidance and support for self-help and peer groups; improve arrangements between carers services and Adult Care; to make Carer Personal Budgets more widely available to carers and to end funding for sitting services in lump sums paid to the service. Deputy council leader and cabinet member for adult social care Paul Smith said: “This will also benefit the young carers across county.”
