A CLASSIC car from Darley Dale has been presented with a prestigious trophy – for the best kept pre war car of the year.
The Aston Martin Owners Club handed over the Sir Arthur Sutherland prize to Brian and Gill Fearn, of Old Hackney Lane.
The couple, who have owned the 1938 sports car for the past 28 years, had to completely rebuild it, down to the last nut and bolt, after discovering it in tatty state in a barn in Lincoln.
The car has appeared in four television programmes, as well as in newspapers and magazines.
Mr Fearn said: “Our philosophy has always been Astons were meant to be used not just looked at. We have never trailered the car to any event, always driving there, taking part, and driving home again.
“It has always been a pleasure chatting to people about the car.”
