Mountain rescue teams help climber

Rescuers were called into action when a climber fell.

Buxton and Edale mountain rescue teams assisted the East Midlands Ambulance Service after the male climber fell three or four metres and damaged his ankle at Stanage.

The incident took place on Wednesday, December 11, at 12.30pm.

The climber was treated on site by the ambulance crew and placed onto a stretcher and carried to the roadside to a waiting ambulance. He was then taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital for further treatment.

The rescuers left the scene by 2pm.
