Mountain rescuers were called into action after a rambler fractured her wrist.

Twelve members of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team responded to a call-out on Saturday afternoon, following a report from the East Midlands Ambulance Service of an injured hill walker near to Lord’s Seat on Rushop Edge.

The casualty, a 56 year old lady from Glossop, was walking with a group when a simple trip resulted in a fractured wrist.

Team personnel were deployed to the incident site with a stretcher and first aid equipment. However an air ambulance was available, so the lady, who was in considerable pain, was assisted directly to the helicopter and flown to hospital for further treatment.
