The Derbyshire Dales’ MP is calling for communities to apply for better quality internet signal in their rural communities.
Patrick McLoughlin, has called on villages throughout the Dales to put themselves forward for Vodafone’s Rural Open Sure Signal.
Vodafone are currently looking for rural villages across the UK to install a number of their Rural Open Sure Signal boxes to boost 3G signal.
Patrick said: “Vodafone’s scheme looks provides a reasonable way for villages in my constituency to finally get quality 3G mobile phone signal. I encourage people in the Dales to apply for this scheme, this will mean we can move forwards and create the infrastructure needed to bring the Dales into the 21st Century, without affecting our beautiful landscape with additional telephone masts.
“This Government firmly believes that transforming the digital landscape is key for a successful future. This shouldn’t be restricted to our cities, it should reach every area of the UK and I hope villages throughout Dales take this opportunity and put themselves forward for the scheme.”
