A NEW minibus will help provide reliable transport for residents and groups, a local charity has said.
The Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport (BECT) has been given the keys to the new Mercedes 313 eight-seater bus, which is one of two to be provided by Derbyshire County Council through the Local Transport Partnership.
The bus is a direct replacement for an older vehicle, as will a new 16-seater Mercedes when that is eventually handed over.
It means BECT can continue running a fleet of 11 community vehicles.
BECT’s Edwina Edwards said: “We can now cater for more and different sized-groups and offer them a reliable ride.”
