New faces at chocolate shop

Steve and Wendy Lowe have taken over Carousel Chocolates, in Hebden Court, Matlock Street, Bakewell.

The deal was managed by Nelsons Solicitors in Derby and Chesterfield–based Banner Jones.

The pair has plans for new products and online sales, as well as corporate gifts and wedding favours.

Steve, a social worker, and university lecturer Wendy, are continuing with their day jobs and will work at Carousel at the weekends.

Steve said: “We bought the shop because we wanted something we could do when we decide to retire.

“I have been a social worker for more than 20 years and we both felt we would like to try something completely different.”

The Lowes knew the shop and had bought chocolates themselves there – and when Carousel came up for sale, they jumped at the chance.

“We are chocolate fans of course and the products at Carousel are fantastic and we will continue to use the same supplier,” Steve added.
