The new McDonald’s in Matlock is open from tomorrow.
The fast-food restaurant on Bakewell Road welcomed customers through the doors for the first time on Thursday morning.
It has a number of digital features which will make it easier for customers to make their orders.
Walter Wright has been a franchisee since 2000 and now owns and operates nine restaurants in Sheffield, Newark and Chesterfield.
He said: “These features have been designed to make our customers’ experience as positive as possible and the new technology benefits everyone – whether that’s providing people with a chance to get to grips with using a tablet in a relaxed environment, or providing a quick and easy way of ordering food.
“We are really proud of the look and feel of the restaurant and everyone is really embracing the digital features. It’s great to be able to offer more jobs within the local area with great training opportunities, helping people to get on the career ladder.”
The restaurant provides the option for customers to use one of two self-order kiosks inside.
Table service is also available.
In branches where table service has been introduced previously, McDonald’s says that customer feedback has been positive, with families enjoying the ease of not having to leave children unattended while queuing.
Mr Wright added: “We have been overwhelmed with the positive response from customers and employees in other restaurants and we’re sure we will see the same here.
“Our restaurants are able to suit the needs of anyone who wants to come in grab a bite to eat or drink and enjoy the atmosphere these features create.”
