New officers have joined Derbyshire police team

Derbyshire Constabulary has welcomed 16 new Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) into the force.

Fresh from completing their five-week training course, the new recruits started work at the beginning of this week.

The group of 11 women and five men are stationed in Buxton, Matlock, Peartree, Long Eaton, Chesterfield, Staveley, Langley Mill and Swadlincote.

Chief Constable Mick Creedon said: “I am delighted that the constabulary is now in a position to hire new Police Community Support Officers.

“Our new recruits will be making a genuine difference to the lives of people in our communities.”
