New £1m hotel suite with bed suspended from ceiling opens

A new £1.1 million suite of rooms is set to be unveiled at one of Doncaster’s top hotels.

The suites feature world class spa facilities, offering pure luxury and indulgence and will be officially revealed at the Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel by Mayor of Doncaster Ros Jones.

The hotel retreat is set in 100 acres of parkland and is ideally located for both leisure and corporate guests.

The Mount Pleasant – one of only six Best Western Premier Brand hotels in the country - is located on the Great North Road between Doncaster and Bawtry.

The new rooms, which bring the total at the hotel to 68, feature a wealth of innovative additions - from a unique seven foot square bed suspended from the ceiling by precision engineered struts and interconnecting rooms with

signature spa suites, with their own steam room, sauna and air bath in the room.

If that wasn’t enough there are eight fully furnished cottages available for companies working on long term projects in the area.

The decision to continue the programme of expansion at the hotel, which opened in 1937 by the Mcllroy family was made when the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route scheme (FARRS) progressed.

It is hoped this will be a catalyst - combined with the added attraction of the feature rooms – to draw visitors from farther afield.

Richard McIlroy, Managing Director of the Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel commented: “The rooms we have added are innovative, luxurious and individual - aimed at our existing niche markets. Further plans for a spa, more cottages and a lodge are also in the pipeline.”

“As always when developing a well-loved and heritage hotel you have to be mindful of using the right materials and craftsmen and so I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved in this ambitious and rewarding project.”

The rooms will be officially launched at the hotel on February 12, although they are already available for bookings.
