No minutes, just approval

Many thanks to Isabella Stone for highlighting in last week’s Mercury the incongruous decisions taken by DDDC planning committee.

As a member of Matlock Area Climate Action Forum, I always scour the paper for details of forthcoming planning applications so as to be able to pass comment if deemed necessary.

I am sure others have noticed the expensive executive housing which is appearing high on the hill to the west of Sainsbury’s – the pleasant green view of those of us living to the north of the river is being spoilt yet again.

I had not spotted a planning application for this development but I have now discovered that executive decisions were taken regarding this project and have been told there are no minutes to any meeting concerning this plan.

Apparently it is part of the Cawdor Quarry development, granted permission a long while ago.
