Officers give crime prevention advice

Neighbourhood Watch members in Grindleford have been protecting their valuables from thieves thanks to a visit from their local Safer Neighbourhood officer.

During recent weeks officers from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team have been heading out on the beat to encourage local people to boost their home and garden security.

As part of the initiative, PCSO Anthony Boswell from the Safer Neighbourhood Team attended a quarterly Neighbourhood Watch meeting in Grindleford to chat to the group about crime prevention.

The group were also handed free SmartWater security marking kits to further protect their valuables from thieves ahead of the summer months.

SmartWater is a forensic based security marking fluid that can be used on property from bikes, electrical items and jewellery to help deter criminals.
