DALEDiva front woman Ally Law is in the running to carry the Olympic torch.
Ally, 32, has made it through to the next stage of the nomination process.
If successful she will be offered a place as one of the 8,000 torchbearers needed in total for the Olympic Torch Relay.
Ally said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that I’ve been selected to go through to the regional rounds for the chance to carry the Olympic flame.
“I felt extremely proud when I found out the girls had nominated me and will be proud to represent them, the Derbyshire Dales and the county if I’m chosen to go through to carry the torch. It would be the most amazing honour.”
Ally was nominated for her work as the director of an award-winning chorus which has transformed the lives of dozens of women.
In 2007 she launched an appeal and her four-part harmony chorus DaleDiva was born – a group of 70 ordinary women.
Last year they won Channel Five TV’s ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ in a search for Britain’s best showchoir.
