Once again, the Derby and District Branch of the Royal Marines Association, held a street collection on Saturday, August 13, in aid of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund. The total raised was £1,575.

A big thank you to the visitors to and residents of Chesterfield whose donations contributed to this amount.

Royal Marines have and are taking fatalities in Afghanistan, but, its the injured ones whom we are collecting for. Their injuries, some visible, some not, may require years of help from our charity, long after the conflict is over and becomes a part of our history.

Physical injuries are plain to see, but such as combat stress, this can take years to surface, and this can affect not only the man, but also his family. This is just one reason why we are grateful for your support last Saturday.

Chairman
