Stuck in middle

I FEEL right in the middle with this strike. I work in a school kitchen, and am not in a union, but have been forced to take a day off without pay as both my children’s schools will be closed.

Plus the school where I work looks like shutting too.

I don’t get paid much, so losing a days’ pay is very annoying.

On the other hand, my husband is a teacher whose pension contributions will be greatly increased, but with less money coming to him when he retires. This change will cost our family over £120 a month when in comes into force. When I think that we will also be losing our child benefit next year, I am concerned how we will manage.
