Organic Peak District farm up for award

A Peak District farm is in the top ten for a prestigious national award.

The bed and breakfast and cottage accommodation at Beechenhill Farm, in Ilam, has made it to the finals of the 2014 Soil Association Organic Awards in the Organic Places to Stay category.

This year sees the inclusion of an online consumer vote, where the public will be able to vote for their favourites in each category throughout Organic September – a month long celebration of all things organic, led by the Soil Association.

Helen Browning, chief executive of the Soil Association, said: “The awards are a great opportunity for not only the products and businesses themselves to be recognised and celebrated, but also the passion and creativity of the people behind them who care so much about what they do.”

Voting on the Soil Association website ends on Tuesday, September 30, and winners will be awarded at the association’s annual conference on Wednesday, October 8.
