Toilets in Hall Leys Park will not open until October – following a hold-up from environment chiefs.
The delay has been caused by the Environment Agency insisting on a formal application being lodged to check the new toilets structually will form part of the perimeter wall of the park.
This involves an eight-week consultation by the EA.
A spokesman for the district council said: “Although the district council recognises that the park is a dry reservoir which is designed to hold water in times of flood, its agent, who are responsible for the design and build of the project, were surprised that a formal application would need to be lodged as the new loos will be easily as sound structually as the old ones.”
Work can re-start once the EA confirm approval.
