Park’s bid for £700,000

Derbyshire Dales District Council is set to apply for more than £700,000 funding as the rejuvenation of its Ashbourne Park moves a step forward.

The council’s corporate committee will be asked on Thursday, December 13, to approve a grant application to the Heritage Lottery Fund in a joint bid with the Ashbourne Partnership, the town council and the local Royal British Legion.

An initial meeting has prompted encouraging feedback from the Heritage Lottery Fund, which is especially interested in parts of the plan that aim to restore the park to how it looked nearly 100 years ago.
