Party faithful draw in for Chesterfield count

As voting for Chesterfield’s next MP drew to a finish Chesterfield Borough Council Chief Executive Huw Bowen outlined regulations for the count.

Political party members supporting their candidates have begun gathering at Chesterfield’s Queen’s Park Sports Centre where the count is due to start.

Parliamentary paper processing has just begun with the candidates for Chesterfield.

Candidates include Labour’s Toby Perkins, who will be looking to keep his seat as MP.

Other candidates include Lib Dem’s Julia Cambridge, Conservative Mark Vivis, Green Matt Genn, UKIP’s Stuart Yeowart, TUSC’s Matt Whale and Peace Party member Tommy Holgate.

The count is expected to be completed between 3am and 4am, tomorrow (Friday May 8).
