Passerby rescues female casualty from water in Ridgeway

A passer-by rescued a female casualty after she became stuck in water with a dog in Ridgeway.

Firefighters from Chesterfield, Staveley and Matlock were called out to the water rescue at The Ford, Ridgeway, about 7.45am, on Friday, August 1.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “One female and one dog had been in water. The female was rescued by a passer-by before the arrival of the fire service.

“Paramedics were also in attendance.”

Crews left the emergency about 8am, on Friday.
