Paying the price for crime

A teenager has apologised and paid compensation to the local council after causing damage to a telephone box in the Hope Valley.

At around 9pm on New Years Eve the 17–year–old kicked a phone box in the Brookside area of Bradwell, smashing one of the glass panels.

The incident was resolved through restorative justice, as victim decided they were happy to accept compensation for the damage. The youth visited Bradwell police station to pay the £50 compensation to cover the repairs.
