Peak District cycling spectators asked to show respect

A international cyclists pedal their way through the Peaks this weekend, the message to spectators is ‘respect, protect and enjoy’ the environment

The Peak District National Park Authority is asking members of the public to respect the countryside when they watch the Tour de France Grand Départ as it passes through the area on Sunday.

Jenny Waller, the authority’s co–ordinator for the Tour de France, said: “We want people coming to see the race in the Peak District to have a memorable and enjoyable time but also to be aware of their surroundings.”
