Peak District’s Tour captured with amazing pictures
Peak Park’s Holme Moss stretch on the Derbyshire border during Stage Two from York to Sheffield was very exciting as Blel Kadri, of AG2R, attacked through crowds of spectators with Thomas Voeckler, of Europcar, chasing him down.
All eyes watched the race roll out over the Peak’s Woodhead, Langsett and Bradfield before Stage Two finished at the Motorpoint Arena, in Sheffield, and was won by Astana rider Vincenzo Nibali.

Hide AdThousands of spectators across the Derbyshire stretch made for a fantastic atmosphere with an estimated 2.5million spectators attending the Grand Depart from Stage One’s Leeds to Harrogate, Stage Two’s York to Sheffield and Stage Three’s Cambridge to London.
The Tour then crossed the Channel to France.
Defending champion and Brit Chris Froome, looked to have consolidated his overall position in the top ten after the three UK stages of the 21 stage race until he crashed out on Stage Five in France, today, Wednesday, July 9, and has had to pull out altogether.
Giant Shimano rider Marcel Kittel has won Stages One, Three and Four.
As the riders began today’s, Wednesday, July 9, Stage 5, from Ypres to Arenberg Porte du Hainanut, Nibali was the overall leader and yellow jersey holder.
Belkin team rider Lars Boom went on to win Stage Five and Nibali crossed the line third, just behind his team-mate Jakob Fuglsang, to retain the leader’s yellow jersey.
