The event to celebrate our amazing county falls on September 22 – but people may wish to arrange activities around that date.
It is being backed by Chesterfield campaigner Howard Burrell, 67, who said: “We have the good fortune to live in probably the most beautiful county in the UK – let’s celebrate that in as many ways as possible.

“If you choose to eat at home why not support some of our wonderful local food producers and maybe end with a beer, wine or gin also produced in Derbyshire.
“If you’re one of those producers why not use the day as an opportunity to promote the huge range of quality products on offer
“If you're a pub, you may wish to have a special choice of Derbyshire beers around that date.

Howard said a number of local businesses – including Casa, Peak Edge, Brampton Brewery, Brampton Manor, Thornbridge Brewery, Brimming with Beer and the Cheese Factor – have expressed an interest in celebrating Derbyshire Day in one way or another.
The Derbyshire flag is also expected to be flown at a number of local landmarks, including Chesterfield Town Hall and Chatsworth House.
It is already flying at the home of the Spireites, the Technique Stadium in Chesterfield.
