Greggs on Burlington Street, wants to allow its customers to eat and drink at the front of the store – meaning you could soon be able to enjoy one of their famous sausage rolls al fresco.

The company has applied to Chesterfield Borough Council for a pavement licence and people are now being asked to give their views on the plan.

Greggs’ application states that the licence is for ‘the use of outdoor seating and consumption of food and drink on our premises at the front of our building’.

Anyone wishing to comment, can email [email protected] or do so in person at The Licensing Department at 85 New Square, Chesterfield.

Representations must be received by Chesterfield Borough Council by April 21, 2021.

Councils across the country have seen a rise in applications for pavement licences as businesses bid to make the most of an easing on outdoor hospitality restrictions.
