Tanya Louise Fewkes and her partner Alessandro Squarcina, also known as Alex, should have been saying their vows at Horsley Lodge in Derby this lunchtime – but the coronavirus crisis has put their happy day on hold.
Tanya’s mum Marie Ball told the Derbyshire Times: “I wanted to give a heartfelt mention to this amazing couple and say a big thank you to them and all other NHS staff and key workers for their hard work and dedication.

“I’m one very proud mother and will be shedding a few tears today on what should have been their special day.”
Tanya and Alex, who are both 29 and live in Clowne, are now due to tie the knot on August 14.
Marie added: “All the suppliers and the wedding venue have truly been amazing during this sad time and have all been very accommodating with moving the arrangements.

Marie added that Alex was now back at work at the Royal after breaking his back in two places.
Before the coronavirus crisis took hold, his mother – who lives in Italy – came here to look after her son and the couple’s two-year-old boy Theodore.
She expects to return to Italy in the next month or two.
