A driver has escaped with only minor injuries following a crash on a major Derbyshire road.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A38 near Coxbench at around 8am yesterday (August 5).

One lane was closed due to a collision between a van and a JCB.

Posting pictures of the aftermath on Twitter, Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said: “Driver of the van failed to see/react to a bright yellow JCB.

"Van driver suffers minor injury and writes his van off. JCB has a damaged indicator.”
