The attractions are planned to open on Soresby Street in March, creating up to 15 jobs in the town.

An escape room sees up to 10 people work together to discover clues, crack puzzles and solve tasks.

They play the game in one or more rooms with the hope of progressing and successfully accomplishing an exit within a 60-minute period.

Nick Hogan, owner of Chesterfield Escape Rooms, said: “Despite the hospitality, tourist and entertainment sectors being devastated over the past six months, I see a real need for family, friends and teams to spend some quality time together in a safe, clean, fun, exciting and challenging environment.

“It’s our intention to reinvigorate a little bit of the town centre and bring three new and exciting rooms, never seen in this area before."

The Chesterfield escape rooms are called Rob the Bank, The Governor and The Crazy Cat Lady Escape Room.

Nick added: “We looked long and hard at the type of escape room we wanted to provide and eventually chose rooms that have been played by over 30,000 people in the UK.

“Tripadvisor ranks these games as the number one attraction in their towns, so we know the people of Chesterfield will enjoy their time with us.

“We aim to deliver a fantastic customer experience and put a smile back on peoples’ faces.”
