Stunning images show Derbyshire blanketed in snow a day before British Summertime

With the clocks changing and Chesterfield basking in temperatures of up to 20 degrees this week, it’s difficult to believe these were the scenes in the Peak District on Saturday.

Derbyshire photographer Rod Kirkpatrick captured these images from Mam Tor and other well-known spots just hours before British summertime began.

Rod said: “A day too early? With the clocks going forward, marking the start of British Summertime, people everywhere will begin donning their shorts, bike riding, walking their dogs through beautiful country vistas and taking their old convertible classic cars old for a spin.”
