The Chesterfield Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team and Community Safety Officers from the fire service will be taking over Unit 16 on Vicar Lane - formerly the Ann Summers shop - on Friday, August 10, between 10am and 3pm.

Residents and shoppers will be able to drop in and speak to officers along with representatives from Neighbourhood Watch and Chesterfield Borough Council and they can pick up advice about crime prevention and safety.

They will also have the chance to try out Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service’s smoke tent experience, where an inflatable house is plunged into darkness and filled with smoke simulating a house fire, and see if they can find their way out.

PCSO Paul Smith of the Chesterfield Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This event is a great chance for us to work alongside local fire officers, Chesterfield Borough Council and Neighbourhood Watch to meet local residents, shoppers and visitors and help them to stay safe. It promises to be a great event.”
