Police appeal after serious sexual assault in Derbyshire

Detectives investigating a serious sexual assault in Derbyshire are re-appealing for information one week after the offence.

Sometime between 9pm and midnight on Wednesday May 25, a woman was sexually assaulted in a van and dropped off in the Chinley area of the High Peak. She was later taken to hospital and released after treatment.

Police are appealing for information about a grey van that was seen in the Chinley, Hayfield and New Mills area during the evening.

They would also like to hear from anyone who saw a woman that evening, wearing a pink top and black leggings, who was walking barefoot along New Mills Road in Hayfield or Hayfield Road in Birch Vale, in the direction of New Mills.
