Of that number, 32 had offences relating to children, either involving contact or no contact.

Of these offenders one had reoffended within the last year.

A Derbyshire police spokesman said: “Although 32 of the offenders in this case have been convicted of sexual offences against children, these can be varied and include both contact and non-contact offences, such as possessing indecent images.

“The number of registered sex offenders living in the B South policing area is also low when compared to the population, which was over 71,000 in 2011.

“However, one of our priorities is protecting the public from harm, and we regularly work with our partner agencies to ensure that the management of sexual offenders in our area helps us to achieve that.”
