Hide AdPark rangers reported that a wooden picnic table, near to the water fountain at Eastwood Park in Hasland, and the side screens on the cricket pitch at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield, had been damaged by fire.
Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team are now making enquiries.
PCSO Zoe Blount said: “Fire can easily get out of hand, and by setting fire to anything you are potentially putting yourself and others at risk of harm.
“It is also costly to replace and repair equipment and is unpleasant for other people wanting to enjoy the facilities.
