Post Office makes shock return to Bakewell

Residents reacted with anger after it was announced the branch was to withdrawn from inside Spar, Unit 1, Granby Croft, Granby Road, Bakewell, on November 12.

However, the Post Office has now reopned inside the Spar following further discussions.

A Post Office spokesperson said “The premises housing Bakewell Post Office, Spar, Unit 1, Granby Croft, Granby Road, Bakewell, was temporarily withdrawn for Post Office use last week, following further negotiations Post Office is pleased to announce that Bakewell Post Office reopened at its current location yesterday (November 22).”
