Prince Charles visits Haddon Hall

He described the county as a “magical part of the world” and one he relishes the opportunity to visit, as he praised the work of the volunteers in maintaining the landscape of the Peak District National Park.

One volunteer, Ian Milne, 71, was presented with a plaque by the Prince to mark 50 years voluntary service. He said: “It was a wonderful experience as I have never met him before but it was wonderful to receive it from him. I had no idea I was going to get it.”

The Prince’s trip to Haddon Hall rounded off a day of visits in Derbyshire, including a stop at Bombardier Transportation and Rolls Royce in Derby.
