DERBYSHIRE will receive its second royal guest this year when Prince Edward, pays a visit.
The Prince will be visiting Lea Green on May 6.
A spokesman for Derbyshire County Council said: “We are looking forward to Prince Edward’s visit and getting this opportunity to share with him the work that is being done in Derbyshire.
“We hope the young people involved will get a boost from the royal visit and enjoy this experience.”
He will also be opening the new sixth-form building at Derby High School, the new St Oswald’s Hospital in Ashbourne, and he will be visiting Ashbourne Animal Welfare Centre and Heage Windmill.
In February this year, older brother Prince Charles visited the county, and toured the revamped Cromford Station.
