Procession to mark 100 years on the buses in Chesterfield

A procession of buses will parade through Chesterfield tonight to celebrate three major transport anniversaries.

The parade will mark the centenary of Chesterfield bus travel as well as the golden jubilee of Stonegravels depot and 25 years of Stagecoach in the town.

To celebrate, Stagecoach’s 7.30pm journey from Chesterfield to Clay Cross and 8pm journey from Clay Cross to Chesterfield on service 54 will be accompanied by a parade of special and historic preserved buses from the local area.
