A procession of buses will parade through Chesterfield tonight to celebrate three major transport anniversaries.

The parade will mark the centenary of Chesterfield bus travel as well as the golden jubilee of Stonegravels depot and 25 years of Stagecoach in the town.

To celebrate, Stagecoach’s 7.30pm journey from Chesterfield to Clay Cross and 8pm journey from Clay Cross to Chesterfield on service 54 will be accompanied by a parade of special and historic preserved buses from the local area.

Paul Lynch, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “The procession will be an incredibly special occasion as it will celebrate three key events in the history and heritage of motor bus transport in Chesterfield.”
