Housebuilder William Davis has drawn up proposals for a "high-quality" development of approximately 415 new homes - some of which would be affordable - on land off Gritstone Road.

The developer said the site had been allocated for housing by Derbyshire Dales District Council in its local plan.

The draft proposals also include open space and green infrastructure to form a new countryside park, improvements to land drainage and provision for neighbourhood shopping facilities in the form of a small local centre on site.

A spokesperson for William Davis said: “Gritstone Road is a real opportunity to create a high-quality development, which will be designed to work in harmony with its existing neighbours and fulfill part of the local plan."

Details about the proposals will be available at a public exhibition on Monday April 23, between 3pm and 7pm, at Our Lady and St Joseph Catholic Church Hall in Matlock.

More information will also be provided at www.williamdavis-matlock.com where, from April 23, there will be an online survey. The closing date for feedback is Tuesday May 1.

The spokesperson added: "We are keen to hear people's views, so encourage them to come along to the exhibition, take a closer look at the proposals and ask the project team any questions they have.”
