Protesters have gathered in force outside the county offices today to voice their concerns over cuts to youth services.
UNISON hosted the rally outside the head offices for Derbyshire County Council in opposition to proposed changes to Derbyshire Youth Service.
More than 16,000 people have now signed the petition against the proposals, which will impact upon 29 youth centres and would see the loss of 157 youth workers.
Andy Freeman, UNISON regional officer, said: “Young people all over the county have voiced their objection to these proposals.
“If the Tories in Derbyshire don’t listen to them, then quite frankly, they won’t listen to anyone.”
