Proud parents enjoyed the perfect present on Christmas Day – the safe arrival of their little bundles of joy.
Abi and Jamie Kay, of Dronfield, were careful not to make plans for Christmas after being given a due date of December 18.
This turned out to be a good move as their son Samuel Jacob turned up at 9.40am on Christmas Day.
Dad Jamie, 37, said: “Well it certainly wasn’t like any other Christmas Day we’ve ever spent but it was pretty wonderful.
“Our two other children, aged six and four, ended up spending the day with friends, rather than us, but since Santa managed to find them anyway, they were perfectly happy and have already fallen in love with their new baby brother who they got to visit later that day.
“We’re looking forward to getting him home now and settling our young family in to celebrate what’s left of Christmas all together – plus maybe let Abi open some of her presents which are still sat under the tree!”
Another couple, Amie-Jo Lockwood and Chris Booker, of Killamarsh, welcomed little Levi into the world at 9.20am on the big day. He weighed 7lb 7oz.
Amie, 22, said: “The whole family is over the moon – but I’m gutted I missed my Christmas dinner!
“His big brother, Dominic, who is six, is ever so proud to have a little brother.
“It’s been a really special time.”
