A Pubwatch scheme in Matlock has been re-launched to help tackle alcohol related crime and disorder in the town.
The initiative sees licensees working together to help to make the night time economy safer, while being supported by our officers.
Licensees, chaired by Louise Evans of The Crown, Matlock, are set to meet regularly to discuss licensing issues, including how to deal with people that need banning due to alcohol related offences, along with keeping each other in the loop with relevant information.
Louise Evans, Chair of the Matlock Pubwatch scheme, said: “It was really important for me to support and become a part of the Matlock Pubwatch scheme, as working alongside other premises within the centre to prevent and deter disorder and to ensure the safety of our customers is crucial for a community like Matlock.”
PC Sandra Barlow, of the North Licensing Team, added: “It is fantastic to see all of the licensees coming together to show their support in making Matlock’s night-time economy a safer place for people.
