Railway team wins award for its loco–motivation

A loco–motivated team of volunteers have won a prestigious award for their work on restoring a rare railcar.

The team from Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, in Wirksworth, won the Railcar of the Year Award after they restored the class 119 Diesel Multiple Unit.

Leigh Gration, team leader, said: “The class 119 is the only one of its class carrying passengers in preservation and I am very proud of the quality of work and dedication of the team.”
