Police have launched an appeal after lambs and ewes were stolen from a field in Bakewell.

The sheep were taken sometime between Tuesday and Thursday, November 25 and 27, from the field in Station Road.

Thirty–five ewes and 25 lambs, which were classed as rare breed and Wiltshire horn, were taken. They may have blue markings on them.

Police say in order to take such a large quantity of sheep, a trailer or lorry would have had to have been used.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to call the police on 101, quoting crime reference ‘CR/50845/14’.
