HuNdreds are expected to turn up to pay their respects at a war memorial this weekend.
On Sunday at 3pm former members of The Mercian Regiment and their families will gather at the War Memorial, in Crich.
The event marks the Annual Pilgrimage to commemorate all those of the regiment who gave their lives in service to their country.
The Lords Lieutenant will be present on the day, as well as high sheriffs, mayors and civic dignitaries from across Derbyshire in order to pay their respects and signify the counties close involvement with the regiment.
This year’s pilgrimage will be led by the Colonel of the Regiment, Brigadier A R D Sharpe and the Service of Commemoration will be conducted by the Venerable Dr Christopher Cunliffe, Archdeacon of Derby.
