Rescue teams help injured Peak District walker

On Tuesday evening (July 29), 17 members of the Buxton and Edale Teams snatch squad were called following reports of a hill walker with leg injuries near to the Dale Head Bunkhouse at the western end of the Edale valley.

The casualty was part of a group from the Coventry area but staying locally at a Nether Booth Bunkhouse.

A further update established her position as being in the Whitemoor Cloughs area, which is higher up the moor than first thought and easier access would be available from the Chapel Gate Track.

Team members treated the casualty on site before carrying her down to the road and handing over to the land ambulance crew for onward transport to a local hospital.
