PUPILS from Highfields School rolled up their sleeves for a hard day’s graft as part of a new traditional skills workshop
The students participated in a project called Combine: Farming Heritage East Midlands to research farming in Derbyshire and to learn new skills.
The workshop took place at the Eco Centre in Wirksworth.
Their instructor for the day, Trevor Wragg, said: “I am very impressed with their workmanship and commitment.
“They all worked extremely hard on the day.”
Along with other groups of young people, the pupils will present their findings at an exhibition – which will tour venues across the region including the Derbyshire Record Office in Matlock next year – as well as the project website.
